About Dr. McAuliffe
Kevin M. McAuliffe, M.D., specializes in Ophthalmology. An Ophthalmologist is a Doctor of Medicine who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of problems related to the eye and surrounding tissues. This includes surgical treatment of eye diseases and the eyelids.
From Dr. McAuliffe:
I received my medical degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., and received specialty training from the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida's College of Medicine in Gainesville.
After years of intensive training in diseases and surgery of the eyes, I passed an examination to become board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
I have been elected to fellowship in the International College of Surgeons, am an alumnus of Leadership Jacksonville, and a past President of the Duval County Medical Society.
The eyes are part of the human body and cannot be considered independently. My practice is devoted to the maintenance of eye health through comprehensive eye examinations. We also dispense glasses and contact lenses. The treatment of disease is accomplished with the use of medications and procedures, including in-office lasers plus small-incision cataract surgery performed on an outpatient basis.
